The Medicine Spoon  Memorial is a creative and collaborative art memorial. It intends to honour and acknowledge women who were persecuted as witches during the witch hunts in the United Kingdom.

 Caren aims to individually honour and remember the women whos names lay forgotten in trial records. She is inviting others to join her in this creative journey of remembrance.  Opening the project up to others allows the healing of this feminine wound.

 

Using the symbol of a medicine spoon printed on to pieces of fabric, a wise woman's (witch) name is written onto the fabric and decorated in whatever style or medium the collaborator wishes to use.

When all of the names have been completed and submitted back they will be stitched together as a collection of pray flags. The memorial will be exhibited in 2022 as part of The Silver Spoon Collective Exhibition.
